A racing comet across a black sky, with its long tail shooting behind, filled the gentle eyes of Painted Sky as she gave birth to her foal. The black and white mare nickered in pain and joy as she nuzzled her new baby and felt her breath upon her. Comet, her tiny brown and white painted foal, looked up and tried to see her admirer. Her big eyes filled with wonder as she saw the sky above filled with brilliant lights. Her imagination raced, and her small heart beat quickly to the rhythm of the new world she had entered.
