My
New Pony
By Callan Van Zant, age 12
The first
day I got my new Pony Leia, my quarter horse, things didn’t go
well. She was not even four and she was nervous. I walked her around
the ring to show Leia her new home. She spooked at a truck coming in
and bucked, kicking me in the arm. She broke my arm and had to wear
a blue cast for a long time. It was a bad start and we were both nervous
of each other. For a long time, she reared and bucked every time I rode
her. Now we are best friends and I show her.
She still
is young and spooks once in a while, but I know her and can handle her
better.
